Ratings Roundup: 2014 CRV

For this edition of Ratings Roundup, we are taking a look at another Canadian favourite: the Honda CRV. The 2014 CRV is an SUV with style, and it certainly is reflected in its ratings. With Honda tech goodies like a back-up camera, handsfree Bluetooth connection, and a bold multi-information display, the 2014 CRV also boasts of having easy folding seats to further expand its interior. These features along with its excellent driving power helped to propel the 2014 CRV into high rating scores on many of the internet’s most popular car review sites.

Kelley Blue Book was very impressed by the 2014 CRV. It has won a 2014 Best Resale Value Award, and was named one of their 10 Best SUVs Under $25,000! It has an expert rating of 7.7 overall, and it currently has a consumer rating of 8/10. In particular, the editors at kbb.com loved how the 2014 CRV comfortably fits taller passengers, and how its Real Time AWD system gave it a feeling of control on the road.

In the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s crash tests, the 2014 CRV scored a “Good” (the highest score) in four out of the five categories.

The Car Connection gave the 2014 CRV an overall rating of 7.6 out of 10. It scored an 8 out of 10 in the “Comfort and Quality” category, and was described as having an interior that is almost as spacious as a minivan. The CRV also scored an 8 out of 10 in the “Features” category for its wide array of trim level options.

The editors at edmunds.com gave the 2014 CRV an “A” rating, and called it their “top choice among compact crossover SUVs”. It also currently has an average customer review of 4.5 out of 5 stars. Edmunds highlights the CRV’s practical nature as a family-appropriate SUV, and was very impressed by the easy folding seats.
