Ratings Roundup: 2016 Pilot

The completely redesigned 2016 Pilot has been impressing critics since its release. This crossover SUV has a lot of competition in its class, but so far the changes to the Pilot have been well received for its improvements in style, comfort, and safety.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has name the 2016 Pilot a Top Safety Pick+. This means that it received the highest score of “Good” in all five crash test categories. In addition, trim levels that are equipped with Honda Sensing get a little boost in their safety score. Honda Sensing adds an additional five points for front crash prevention.

The editors at Kelley Blue Book were blown away by the 2016 Pilot! They found it to be much improved from previous generations. In addition, they found it to be the “best-driving vehicle in its class“. It easily and comfortably seats eight, and the cabin is incredibly quiet. They also loved how easy the Pilot was to manoeuvre, and the under-floor storage!

The Car Connection gave the 2016 Pilot an overall rating of 8.8 out of 10.  It was also awarded a 10 out of 10 in the “Comfort and Quality” category. These editors also had high praise for the 2016 Pilot. They found it to be “the best three-row crossover SUV”, and commented on its “mature and luxurious” interior. They also preferred the 2016 Pilot’s body shape to previous year’s designs.
