Ratings Roundup: 2015 Fit
It is time to start the 2015 edition of Ratings Roundup! The first model in the Roundup is the highly anticipated 2015 Fit! Car and Driver gave the 2015 Fit a 5 star rating, and listed it as first in its class! The Fit has a very impressive reputation with Car and Driver, and this year’s model is no exception. They found that the aesthetic changes both inside and out of the 2015 Fit created a more mature feeling than other models. The editors at Car and Driver also focused a lot on just how fun the Fit is to drive. It has the power, control, and fuel economy that really makes for a great ride. Unsurprisingly, the Fit’s Magic Seats and ample cargo room were also singled out as the Fit’s strong suits.
The editors at thecarconnection gave the 2015 Fit an overall score of 8.4 out of 10. In particular, it scored a 9 out of 10 in the “Interior/Exterior” and “Features” subcategories. One of their favourite features of the Fit was the fact that it is an inexpensive vehicle, but it doesn’t feel cheaply made. The 2015 Fit’s list of standard features was also a plus (keyless entry, cruise control, a rearview camera system, and air conditioning are all base model features). And of course, the Fit’s Magic Seats and comfortable interior were also some of the editors’ favourites.
Initially the 2015 Fit received a score of “Good” in four out of five of the IIHS’ safety tests. It received a score of “Acceptable” in the “Small Overlap Front” category, which kept it from being named a “Top Safety Pick”. Displeased with this, Honda created a bumped upgrade for all 2015 Fit models assembled after June 2014. With the bumper upgrade, the Fit was able to score “Good” in all five of the IIHS’ safety tests, and could be named a Top Safety Pick.
